Milk price goes up in Karachi


KARACHI: The milk price in the city jumped before the meeting called by the Sindh Chief Secretary as the prices of milk commodities could be fixed, SAMAA reported Sunday.

The meeting with dairy farmers and Milk Retailers Association has been called on May 31 (tomorrow) by Sindh CS Fazl-ur Rehman. But the retail price of milk has already been increased up to four rupees.

The fixed price by the government is Rs 37 per kg but people are compelled to get it on Rs 56 per kg.

While talking to SAMAA, Haji Akhtar, dairy farmers’ association president, told that it was the compulsion to raise the price because the inflation is high
