Quetta blast kills 2, wounds 14
QUETTA: A blast occurred at airport road of the city which killed at least 2 persons and injured 14 on Monday.
Security forces cordoned off the area and wounded were rushed to the Civil Hospital.
The blast occurred in the rickshaw and adjacent vehicles were also affected.
According to bomb disposal squad 15 kilo explosive material was used in the blast. The nature of the blast is unknown.
According to Edhi sources, at airport road near regional office of National Highway Authority blast took place in the rickshaw which killed two and injured another 14 including children and women.
Hospital sources told SAMAA that among the injured include four women and seven children who were given swift medical treatment.
Balochistan Shia Ulema Council issued the statement following the blast which said that blast was conducted to target Shia leader Allama Ghulam Mehdi Najafi, however, he remained safe in the blast.
Superintendent of Police Dr Farrukh confirmed that he had the information that blast was conducted at the time when vehicle of shia leader was passing through the locality. At least three vehicles were affected by the blast.
