Zardari, Shahbaz condemn Lahore attacks


ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari, condemning the terror in Lahore on Friday, said that Islam does not allow attacking sacred places of any religion.

In a statement, President Zardari said that such attacks will not weak the government through such cowardly acts of terrorism.

He condoled the bereaved families and said that the government will continue its war against the menace.

"The moral of the nation is high," he added.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attacks on worship places, saying that the war against terrorists will continue till its complete elimination.

Talking to the media in the city, Punjab CM said that the attacks are the open example of cruelty. He said that the law enforcement agencies have held a terrorist, and it will help investigation.

Punjab CM said that all other attackers have been killed.

He appreciated the role of police and elite force. Several soldiers are also injured. The police, administration and other law enforcement agencies will not avoid sacrifice.

Mian Shahbaz Sharif directed Punjab IG and concerned departments to submit the report by tonight
